Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our team at MMC-Memorial Medical Center. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective preparation and distribution of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, compound, package, label, and dispense medications and nutritional products in a sterile and controlled environment.
  • Adhere to all standards, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe and clean medication area, including infection control policies.
  • Assist with inventory management and control, including maintaining adequate stock levels and checking accuracy of pricing.
  • Exercise sound judgment and clinical skills to provide pharmaceutical support to patients' plans of care.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and policies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or meeting Board of Pharmacy requirements to obtain registration.
  • PHRMTECHR-Registered Pharmacy Technician, PHARMC-Certified Pharmacy Technician, or PHARMT-Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations, and laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing assignments and working within standardized operating procedures.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, related pharmaceutical technology, and electronic health records.
Working Conditions

This position may regularly work with hazardous drugs and requires adherence to USP 800 guidelines.
