Precision Machining Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Precision Machining Specialist to join our manufacturing team at Select Industries Corp. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Wire EDM machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and Operation:
- Set up and operate Wire EDM machines to produce parts according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Select and install appropriate tooling and electrodes.
- Program machines using CAD/CAM software or manual programming methods.
- Machine Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of Wire EDM machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues to minimize downtime.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure they meet required specifications and tolerances.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to correct any discrepancies.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production times, and part specifications.
- Document any deviations from specifications and report to the supervisor.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to quality control and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machining or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience operating Wire EDM machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in aerospace and medical helpful.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of Wire EDM programming and operation, including CAD/CAM software.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures.
- Knowledge in ERP systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods while operating machines.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Working Conditions:
- Typically works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise and metalworking fluids.
- May be required to work overtime or on shifts to meet production deadlines.
