Job Summary

This Senior Systems Engineer role is available for a contract opportunity with a Fortune 500 transportation company in Fort Worth, TX. As part of their team, you will leverage the latest technology to solve business problems in a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve business problems by participating in all phases of the development process from inception through transition. You will advocate the agile process and test-driven development, using object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct, and test reusable objects. You will make the codebase better.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement technical requirements and solutions.
  • Perform configuration and maintenance of applications and servers.
  • Maintain system documentation.
  • Support enterprise application performance management, monitoring, and logging solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and support systems and applications across on-premise and physical environments.

Requirements
  • Critical thinking and analysis.
  • Strong sense of ownership.
  • Highly curious.
  • Fascination with big airplanes and travel.
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Able to analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and determine root cause with minimal assistance.
  • Able to create solutions and implement them with minimal assistance.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • 5-8 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent experience in infrastructure engineering.
  • Windows Server 2019.
  • PowerShell, BASH, or similar.
  • Server virtualization technologies (VMware ESX Server, Citrix XenApp Server, Microsoft Hyper-V).
  • System monitoring tools (Dynatrace or others).
  • SSL technologies (https, sftp, SSH, TLS, etc.).
  • Windows 10+ O/S.
  • Ubuntu 18+.
  • Storage technologies (SAN and NAS).
  • TC/IP Networking.
  • Network technologies (firewall, routing, LAN, WAN, DNS).
  • Application and Web servers.
  • PuTTY SSH and Telnet Client.
  • MySQL.
  • Apahe.

Work Environment
  • Standard 3 days on site, more as required.
  • Travel up to 25%.
