At Food Authority, we're seeking a skilled Warehouse Loader to join our team. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of our products to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Review shipping orders and packing lists to determine items to be loaded onto outgoing trucks.
- Retrieve items from designated storage areas within the warehouse using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
- Verify the accuracy of items being loaded by comparing them to shipping documents and ensuring they match in quantity and description.
- Pack items securely and efficiently onto trucks, taking care to organize them to maximize space utilization and prevent damage during transit.
- Apply proper labeling and identification to loaded items, including pallet tags, shipping labels, and other required documentation.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed to maintain accurate records of warehouse stock levels.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe lifting techniques.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, including sweeping floors, removing debris, and disposing of packaging materials properly.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies with shipments, inventory, or equipment to supervisors or warehouse management.
- Collaborate with other warehouse team members to ensure timely completion of loading tasks and meet shipping deadlines.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment preferred.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently (certification may be required).
