Waymo is a leader in autonomous driving technology, and our mission is to make transportation safer and more efficient. We're looking for a talented Systems Engineer to join our team and help us develop and implement depot automation features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement requirements, system architecture, and verification strategy for new depot automation features.
  • Develop deep technical understanding of existing and new depot automation features and drive a robust end-to-end verification and monitoring system to ensure these features meet high efficacy goals.
  • Develop qualification methods to launch new features and depots and provide engineering recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Debug field issues to determine root cause and identify solutions with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or other technical field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or related field.
  • Systems engineering mindset and a proactive, data-driven approach to fixing problems.
  • Aptitude to apply existing technical depth to new areas and learn quickly.
  • Ability to write code for use in debugging, querying data sets (SQL), and creating dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in system engineering fundamentals such as requirements definition, formal verification and validation methods.
  • Experience with positioning or inertial navigation.
  • Experience with simulation-based testing.
  • Experience with test development including simulation and hardware in the loop.
  • Experience deploying products at scale.

Salary Range: $217,000—$275,000 USD
