Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Systems Technician to join our team at Hill College. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our computer systems, networks, and peripherals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware, software, and peripherals in a timely manner.
  • Clean and maintain computer equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Evaluate and dispose of older hardware and software as needed.
  • Monitor network performance and alert management of any issues.
  • Maintain inventory, passwords, and computer-related work orders.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems on faculty and staff computers.
  • Provide technical support and training to users.
  • Respond to service calls and complete work orders from the help desk.
  • Provide support for distance learning and audiovisual equipment use.
  • Manage assigned computer lab operations, including lab scheduling.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Two to four years of experience in technology support.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
  • Working knowledge of computer security systems and procedures.
Working Conditions

This is a security-sensitive position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Some travel may be required to remote service centers.

Physical Requirements: Medium work; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
