Key Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Accountant
- Conduct general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring data accuracy, and identifying and rectifying discrepancies.
- Facilitate timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closures for various divisions and partnerships, including managing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and maintaining operational management accounts.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic operating forecasts.
- Maintain and update financial records and reports related to profits, taxes, liabilities, and assets.
- Generate special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account data and trends.
- Support external auditors by providing necessary account information and documentation for annual audits.
- Stay informed about acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Qualifications for the Senior Financial Accountant
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general financial accounting principles.
- Demonstrated excellent work habits, including the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively.
- Capability to prioritize tasks and handle various assignments simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, along with accounting software.
