Job Title: Nursing Supervisor

Alaris Health at St. Mary's is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing units, ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Adequately staff shifts and departments relative to resident levels and needs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Maintain consistent collaboration and communication with all charge nurses on a daily basis.
  • Rounds and Assessments: Make morning and nightly rounds to assess residents' conditions, giving special attention to critically ill residents.
  • Nursing Care Plans: Ensure that each resident's individual nursing care plan is understood and adhered to.
  • Medication Passes and Direct Care: Perform medication passes and/or direct resident care as needed.
  • Orientations and Training: Orient, train, and refresh nursing personnel to develop and refine their skills.
  • Emergency Response: Answer all emergencies throughout the shift.
  • Safety Protocols: Enforce the Center's safety protocols and review incidents and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Quality Improvement: Assist in developing and implementing the Center's quality improvement program.
  • Resident and Family Satisfaction: Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes their needs and rights.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure: Current registration with the professional board of nursing examiners of New Jersey.
  • Experience: Experience in the nursing field and supervisory experience in long-term care.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess thorough knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, and practices, procedures and equipment, dietetic, sanitation, and personal hygiene and medications, their proper dosage and expected results.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions of a technical nature, ability to recognize and identify symptoms, and ability to make decisions quickly in emergencies.
  • Leadership and Training: Ability to train and delegate staff members and positively interact with everyone from personnel and residents to government agencies and the general public.
