Qualifications

Education/Certification/Licensure
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Preferred: Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification (CPO)
Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Capability to adhere to verbal and written directives
  • Understanding of best practices in water treatment
Experience
  • Minimum of two years in recreational water or HVAC water treatment systems
Key Responsibilities

  1. Travel to various locations to maintain swimming pools and associated equipment.
  2. Calibrate and modify water treatment control mechanisms to manage chemical distribution.
  3. Ensure proper chemical composition and temperature of pool water according to established standards.
  4. Conduct and document water quality tests, including pH, chlorine levels, and temperature.
  5. Diagnose and rectify issues with water treatment systems.
  6. Inspect and assist in the upkeep of pool dehumidification systems.
  7. Respond to emergency situations regarding pool equipment and chemical discrepancies.
  8. Ensure the safety and well-being of students, patrons, and staff.
  9. Exemplify core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, fairness, compassion, and community.
  10. Engage in professional development opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  11. Review district policies and current practices before taking action.

Equipment Utilized

Includes but is not limited to hand tools, small power tools, electrical meters, ladders, lifts, pool vacuums, and chemical testing instruments.

Working Conditions

Mental Demands

Ability to focus and concentrate while handling hazardous materials. Flexibility in scheduling is required; maintain emotional control at all times.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

Involves significant walking, standing, and climbing; lifting up to 80 pounds; exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, toxic substances, and uneven surfaces; working near high voltage and moving machinery.

Contract Duration: 230 days

Pay Grade: AUX 7
