About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at EVAPCO Dry Cooling, Inc. as a key member of our design team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and create detailed technical drawings and assembly drawings for large power plant equipment using 2D and 3D CAD systems.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of applicable codes and standards, including OSHA, AISC, and ASME.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, fabrication shops, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and provide clarification on design-related matters.
  • Provide detailed engineering drawings from conceptual sketches and evaluate constructability and fabrication practicality when finalizing design solutions.
  • Propose design changes to improve the fabrication process and ensure efficient execution of multiple simultaneous assignments.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on design and drafting experience in structural steel, vessels, ducting, and piping for the power, heavy industrial equipment, or petrochemical industry.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a metric and imperial environment.
