We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at EVAPCO Dry Cooling, Inc. as a key member of our design team.
Key Responsibilities- Design and create detailed technical drawings and assembly drawings for large power plant equipment using 2D and 3D CAD systems.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of applicable codes and standards, including OSHA, AISC, and ASME.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, fabrication shops, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and provide clarification on design-related matters.
- Provide detailed engineering drawings from conceptual sketches and evaluate constructability and fabrication practicality when finalizing design solutions.
- Propose design changes to improve the fabrication process and ensure efficient execution of multiple simultaneous assignments.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on design and drafting experience in structural steel, vessels, ducting, and piping for the power, heavy industrial equipment, or petrochemical industry.
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a metric and imperial environment.
