Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pork Procurement Specialist to join our team at JBS USA. As a key member of our hog yard operations, you will be responsible for receiving and evaluating hogs, sorting off-quality hogs for resale, and ensuring proper animal handling to comply with company policy and USDA regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and evaluate hogs as they arrive, sorting off-quality hogs for resale
  • Count hogs and ensure proper animal handling to comply with company policy and USDA regulations
  • Physically manipulate hogs using rattle paddle for moving into pens, tattoo chute, and onto scale for weighing
  • Train on driving equipment (bobcat, skid steer) as needed
  • Complete and deliver necessary paperwork
  • Perform various other duties as needed or assigned
Requirements
  • Work 40+ hours per week in hog yards/barns, with ability to work in noisy, dusty, hot/cold temperatures, and slippery floors
  • Ability to visually assess weight and potential yield of hogs
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to physically maneuver among and manipulate live hogs
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; college classes in animal science preferred
  • Previous experience in dealing with hogs (breeds, market, handling, etc.)
