Senior Biochemist

Job Summary

As a Senior Biochemist at International Flavors & Fragrances, you will demonstrate expertise in bio-chemistry or adjacent fields, developing value-creating solutions for project teams and stakeholders. You will manage multiple projects, overseeing the experimental aspects and providing high-quality data. Your role will involve recognizing and improving the quality of experimental work, delivering results and solutions to complex problems. You will plan, schedule, and determine resources to drive results and meet objectives. Additionally, you will seek and implement new ideas to solve problems and make innovative contributions.

Scientific and Engineering Methodologies
Apply the scientific method or engineering design process and statistics, focusing on biochemistry or adjacent disciplines. Coach others in aspects of the methodology and expand your skills in laboratory techniques, instruments, and problem-solving. Recognize and define boundaries and impact within a technology area and market.

Business, Competitor, Market, and Customer Expertise and Impact
Understand the work group and business strategy. Propose MT and Process R&D projects aligned with business goals. Create thorough knowledge and understanding of asset, product, and process requirements, competitive environment, and related business needs. Translate technology benefits into new business opportunities.

Intellectual Property and Documentation
Understand the development and protection of IP through confidentiality agreements, patent disclosures, and proper external communication. Participate in the development of intellectual property plans as part of a project. Document results of experimental work, draw conclusions, and propose next steps. Lead author on Research Reports, Invention Disclosures, and Patent applications.

Communication
Deliver presentations or reports, communicating appropriately to influence audiences. Communicate results and impact of projects with a sense of urgency to influence decision-making processes across organizations, work teams, and stakeholders.

Collaborative Leadership
Seek responsibilities on the team that will influence activities and direction. Maintain team focus and alignment on achievement of mission and goals. Leverage internal networks and understanding of technologies or applications to build partnerships for defining and contributing to business objectives and solving problems. Persuade/influence others to build project team consensus on critical decisions and support the development of a path forward.

Salary Ranges
$88,400.00 - $132,600.00
