Job Summary:

The School of Music & Dance at Eastern Michigan University invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer to teach MUSC 416/517 Compositional Techniques, a group instruction course in music composition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach MUSC 416/517 Compositional Techniques, a group instruction course in music composition.
  • Meet with students during and outside of assigned classes.
  • Assess student work and performance.
  • Prepare syllabi and course materials.
  • Provide copies of syllabi and course materials to supervisor on request.
  • Assign and submit grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
  • Perform related departmental duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Music degree or equivalent (preferably in Composition or Music Theory).
  • College or university teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree or study towards a doctoral degree in Composition or related field.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Composition.
