About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at gWorks. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-native data infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the success of our cloud development projects, delivering high-quality, efficient, and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data migration strategies to support our cloud-native platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine our software products, ensuring best-in-class design and coding practices.
  • Communicate and organize architectural and design decisions to meet business objectives, balancing costs, resource needs, and schedule against strategic plans.
  • Analyze, document, and organize data to build data pipelines and implement data mapping and ETL processes.
  • Lead and execute data migration from legacy systems to the cloud-native platform, creating and implementing data migration standards.
Requirements
  • Professional data engineering experience with a proven track record of success delivering enterprise solutions and a broad range of technical knowledge.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing data services using AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL) in a cloud-native microservices application framework. Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) experience is a plus.
  • Mastery of SQL techniques and tools, data model design foundational skills, and demonstrated ability to analyze and optimize query performance.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, technical mastery of data warehouse and data lake construction, design, and administration.
  • Proven success managing data migration and ETL programs, projects, and tools, and experience executing scalable cloud-based development under an Agile CI/CD methodology.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a large project environment and with remote teams.
