Job Overview

The Anchored School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs and interests of children aged 2-3 years. This includes planning activities that promote language, motor skills, and social-emotional development.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment. Establish clear routines and expectations to support the children's growth and ensure a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and guardians. Provide regular updates on their child's progress and offer guidance on supporting their child's development at home.
  • Safety and Health: Ensure a safe and clean classroom environment. Follow all health and safety protocols, including those related to hygiene, food handling, and emergency procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with assistant teachers and other staff members to deliver high-quality educational experiences. Support a team approach to classroom management and curriculum planning.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: A degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or licenses in early childhood education are advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience working with children aged 2-4 years in a classroom setting is required. Proven ability to implement The Creative Curriculum effectively is essential.
  • Skills: Patience, empathy, and kindness are essential for this role. You should have a strong understanding of early childhood development principles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to create engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification is required or willingness to obtain.
