Job Title: Systems Engineer

Overview:

The Systems Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our company's networks and systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work under the direction of the IT manager to lead small to large complexity projects, collaborating with vendors and end users as needed.
  • Provide project costs, design concepts, and recommendations for changes, evaluating current or emerging technologies to ensure optimal solutions.
  • Assist in the development of procedures for configuring vital computing equipment and participate in audits to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and environment security.
  • Collaborate with engineers, system administrators, software developers, users, and management to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.
  • Enforce, monitor, and remedy security to meet PCI/DSS, Privacy, and HIPAA requirements, using secure protocols like SSH, HTTP, and SSL.
  • Configure and define parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), switches, routers, firewalls, servers, virtualization technology, and related network equipment.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of all network servers, supervising the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all desktop, laptop, and notebook computers.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or vocational/technical school degree.
  • 4-6 years of related work experience.
  • TCP/IP, routing protocols, layer 2 and layer 3 devices, etc.
  • Microsoft, CompTIA, or other IT certification preferred.
