Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
  • Obtain and record patient medical histories and vital signs
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred
  • Ability to perform a wide range of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care preferred
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills required
  • EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred
Education and Experience
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum)
  • OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years
  • OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting
  • OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years
  • OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years
Certifications/Licenses Required
  • Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation
