About the Role
The Oklahoma Heart Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and processing medications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct regular checks on nursing units to ensure proper medication storage and handling.
- Repackage and barcode medications as needed.
- Order, stock, and transport pharmaceutical supplies according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Registration with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 45 days of employment.
- National technician certification within one year of service.
- One year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Working Knowledge
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, compounding, and ordering of medications.
- Repackage medications and restock automated dispensing machines.
- Demonstrate competency in aseptic technique and handling hazardous materials.
- Demonstrate a general knowledge of word and data processing operations sufficient to perform data entry and generate necessary reports.
