Respiratory Care Specialist

About the Role
This position performs various duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with the physician's order and departmental policy. The ideal candidate will work independently in all acute and critical care settings, consulting with physicians and other personnel to make recommendations on treatment as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts independently to perform respiratory therapy general and critical care procedures in accordance with the physician's order, departmental policy, and Respiratory Care guidelines or protocols.
- Obtains blood gasses from all sites, analyzes and reports results accurately.
- Initiates, monitors, and manages patients requiring all types of invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
- Manages all types of airways and associated equipment.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school in Respiratory Care Program.
- South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentials must be maintained.
- Additional certifications dependent on work unit: NRP, PALS, ACLS, NPS.
Salary Information
The estimated salary range for this role is between $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
