Job Overview

PRIMARY ROLE:

The main responsibility is to execute tasks related to thermal processing and quality assurance. This includes loading and unloading furnaces and aging ovens, as well as managing incoming and outgoing inventory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure adherence to corporate standards within the designated area of expertise.

· Implement total quality management principles and utilize quality control techniques to enhance job performance.

· Identify and pursue ongoing training necessary for optimal job performance.

· Follow all procedures related to thermal processing and quality assurance for both certified and non-certified products.

· Utilize manuals, process documentation, and software systems effectively in thermal processing and quality management.

· Maintain a clean, organized workspace and uphold general housekeeping standards.

· Foster a positive work environment and maintain team morale.

· Engage in effective communication and collaboration within a team setting.

· Attend required training sessions as scheduled.

· Be flexible in working various shifts and be available for on-call duties as needed.

· Comply with OSHA regulations.

FURNACE OPERATOR/INSPECTOR DUTIES:

· Manage the loading and unloading of all thermal processing equipment.

· Process materials according to established methods and procedures.

· Monitor temperature controls and take corrective actions as necessary.

· Maintain accurate shift logs and data records.

· Oversee quench water levels and temperatures.

· Complete shift changeovers thoroughly, including all necessary checklists.

· Handle nonconforming materials according to quality protocols.

· Inspect materials at various stages to ensure compliance with specifications.

· Document material specifications accurately and direct materials to appropriate processing areas.

· Ensure accuracy in documentation related to material requirements.

· Execute start-up and shut-down procedures effectively.

· Set up and monitor temperature controls for equipment.

· Provide customer service related to production processes.

· Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for quality and assist in inventory management.

· Complete process certifications as directed by quality assurance.

· Label all new or specially packaged materials appropriately.

SHIPPING AND RECEIVING DUTIES:

· Ensure accuracy in shipping and receiving documentation.

· Enter shipping and receiving data into the database accurately.

· Perform loading and unloading of trucks as required.

· Prepare shipments correctly and create bills of lading using both automated and manual systems.

· Conduct necessary documentation, inspections, and verifications of product counts.

· Carry out physical inventory procedures for customer products and company supplies.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Willingness to work flexible hours.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

· Strong decision-making skills using logical reasoning.

· Effective oral and written communication skills.

EDUCATION:

· General forklift operation experience preferred.

· Minimum of two years of industrial experience required.
