Culinary Specialist

At CHSGa, we're seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Azalea Health & Rehab. As a Cook, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality meals to our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met while promoting a positive dining experience.

• Prepare a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, following standardized recipes and menu plans.
• Operate kitchen equipment, such as mixers, meat slicers, and ovens, to prepare meals.
• Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including work surfaces, floors, and equipment, to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
• Monitor and control food temperatures, storage, and handling to prevent spoilage and foodborne illness.
• Assist with tray line service, including setting up and serving meals to residents.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of illness.
• Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure menu plans meet the nutritional needs of residents.
• Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the kitchen and dining services.

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

The Cook will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and physical activity. The ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, as well as stand for long periods, is required.
