Position Overview

The Practical Nurse Specialist, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, plays a vital role in the care and treatment of patients and residents. Key responsibilities include administering medications and injections, performing tube feedings, managing IVs, collecting blood samples, providing colostomy care, and closely monitoring patients while reporting any changes in their health status.

Additional duties encompass taking and documenting vital signs, gathering specimens for laboratory analysis, applying dressings, assisting with personal hygiene tasks, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for all patients and residents.

Nursing services may be delivered in a state-operated facility or within community-based settings.
