About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Operations Associate to join our team at Tempus. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with sample movement and tracking throughout the laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Manage working queues in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for multiple lab teams, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist with sample gathering and consolidation for project requests, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Track and manage sample storage, adhering to strict protocols and regulations.
  • Perform routine workflows without specific guidance, demonstrating autonomy and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with other lab team members to meet sample turnaround times, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
  • Contribute to maintaining CLIA/CAP compliance through documentation assistance, ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Approach work with safety and diligence, following laboratory safety requirements and protocols.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness, including cleaning floors, labware, and disposing of biohazard materials.
  • Perform general lab maintenance and upkeep, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements:

  • High School degree or GED required.
  • 0-2+ years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of CAP regulations and laboratory SOPs and protocols.
  • Comfort with laboratory safety and training.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills in the laboratory.
  • Good communication and organization skills.
