Mount Prospect Academy is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our mental health support team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support to our students, promoting their emotional and behavioral well-being, and fostering a positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Individual Education Plan (IEP) team to develop and implement counseling goals for students.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, focusing on personal strengths and challenges, and developing adaptive strategies to support their success.
- Develop and maintain Individualized Crisis Support Plans for each student, ensuring a comprehensive and trauma-informed approach.
- Build and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with students, faculty, and families, promoting a supportive and inclusive school community.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, including community agencies and healthcare providers, to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Document all treatment provided, including case notes, service logs, and progress reports, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to established protocols.
- Participate in regular Treatment Team meetings to monitor student growth and progress, and contribute to the development of individualized plans.
- Provide training and support to faculty on trauma-informed practices and crisis intervention, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
- Support crisis intervention and safety assessments, working closely with other clinicians and school administrators as needed.
- Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with evidence-based practices and best practices in school social work.
- Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, or a related field.
- Licensed or in process of being licensed through the relevant state licensing board.
- National certification in school social work or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience counseling adolescents and families.
- Position requires a criminal history background check.
- Competitive salary range: $52,000 - $58,000.
