Senior Financial Accountant

The Senior Financial Accountant will be instrumental in facilitating the financial operations of a manufacturing organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role is accountable for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of financial documentation, generating financial reports, and delivering critical insights into the organization's financial health. The ideal candidate will possess a robust accounting background, particularly within the manufacturing sector, and will be adept at managing intricate financial responsibilities with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and assess monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Guarantee precise and timely financial reporting to management and external parties.
- Examine financial data to uncover trends, discrepancies, and areas for enhancement.
- General Ledger Oversight:
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including inventory, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts.
- Supervise the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Cost Accounting Support:
- Assist in cost accounting activities, including analyzing production expenses, inventory valuation, and variance assessments.
- Collaborate with the operations team to oversee and control manufacturing costs.
- Compliance and Audit Coordination:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Support the preparation and organization of audits, both internal and external.
- Budgeting and Forecasting Assistance:
- Contribute to the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to enhance financial performance and meet business goals.
- Process Enhancement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, particularly in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to precision.
