Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at The Maryland School for the Blind. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care to students with multiple disabilities, utilizing your expertise in pediatric nursing and healthcare management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing assessment, treatment, and consultation to students with multiple disabilities.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and community-based professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Develop and implement individualized health plans, promoting student independence and well-being.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, contributing to the development of best practices in healthcare.
  • Assume charge nurse/unit coordination duties as required, demonstrating leadership and clinical expertise.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in pediatrics, with a strong background in healthcare management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • First Aid/CPR certification, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in multiple indoor environments around campus, with varying sound, lighting, and temperature conditions. The successful candidate must be able to walk from building to building or use a golf cart, with occasional weekend assignments and flexible scheduling.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $65,303 - $130,085, with a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
