We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Boring Operator I. This role involves working with advanced machinery and is essential to our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate various conventional metal-cutting machines and related equipment, requiring familiarity with hydro tracers and digital readouts.
  • Utilize machinery such as turning lathes, boring lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, grinders, and saws to produce a diverse range of steel forged products.
  • Plan and execute setups, layouts, and work processes in accordance with product specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Determine the appropriate operational sequence, selecting speeds, feeds, and cutting tools based on material types and finish requirements.
  • Employ special holding fixtures, counterbalances, and counterweights to ensure precise positioning and secure products in machinery to meet tolerance standards.
  • Operate overhead cranes and/or radio-controlled cranes as required.
  • Adhere to all plant safety regulations while maintaining the highest quality standards in all tasks performed.
  • Complete necessary reports and maintain accurate recordkeeping.
  • Provide training to others on the proper operation of machinery within the shop classifications.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Perform additional labor tasks as needed to support production flow.
  • Participate in all mandatory meetings and training sessions.
  • Be prepared to work rotating shifts, including potential 24/7 schedules, with mandatory overtime as required.
  • Regular attendance is a critical function of this role.
