Intensive Care Unit Support Professional

Day Kimball Hospital is seeking a dedicated and organized Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Support Professional to join our team. This role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the ICU staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the unit.
Job DescriptionThe ICU Support Professional will perform various clerical duties, including completing forms, requisitions, and communications. They will also assist with patient care activities, such as transcribing physicians' orders and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:- Complete all necessary forms, requisitions, communications, and special projects as assigned
- Accurately transcribe physicians' orders
- Act as a central communication resource at the nursing station for all patient care activities
- Maintain excellent customer service and patient confidentiality
- Accurately input and retrieve data
- Initiate, maintain, replace, or complete various clerical forms, reports, supplies, etc.
- Assist patients and nurses as necessary with ADL, Vital Signs, and patient Plan of Care
- Assist patients and nurses with lifting and positioning, using proper body mechanics
- Function in the role of Constant Attendant and respond to Resusci-team page and Crisis Team page when directed by Nurse Director/designee
- Transport (or assist with transport) of patients to other units or departments as necessary
- Report any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Current CNA certification or completion of one year of clinical experience in an accredited RN nursing program, EMT-B, or equivalent
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire
- Experience in clerical or receptionist position preferred
- Previous experience in an acute care environment preferred
