Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resident Director to join our team at Dominican University New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a vibrant program in the residence halls, fostering a supportive and inclusive community for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement residence life programs and initiatives that promote student engagement, academic success, and personal growth.
  • Supervise and mentor Resident Assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure a positive living environment.
  • Collaborate with university departments to promote student success and well-being.
  • Enforce university policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful community for all students.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, providing support and guidance to students and staff as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in student affairs, higher education administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in residence life or a related field.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse student and staff populations.
  • Driver's license required, with ability to drive university vehicles.
