Overview
The Clothing Alteration Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing our mission to provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. This position involves a range of operational tasks focused on executing alterations, including the adjustment of garments such as jeans and pants.

Customer Engagement and Sales Support
Execute high-quality alterations on merchandise at the retail location. Adhere to ticket instructions and markings according to customer specifications. Provide on-the-spot alterations as requested by store management. Meet deadlines and customer expectations for garment alterations.Operational Duties
Flexibility to work varied hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and peak holiday periods, based on business needs. Utilize provided sewing machines and materials to carry out alterations. Accurately measure and mark alteration lines. Pin or mark fabric to indicate areas requiring alterations. Remove stitches from garments using appropriate tools. Reconstruct garments using needle and thread or sewing machines. Press garments using irons or steamers. Repair any defective merchandise. Clean spots or stains from garments. Maintain an alteration log to record all work performed. Document required alterations and instructions clearly. Adhere to productivity standards, typically completing four jean alterations per hour. Keep a tidy, organized, and well-stocked workspace, notifying management when supplies are low. Be adaptable to fluctuating hours based on seasonal business demands. Be open to feedback regarding the quality of work. Report any policy violations to management in a timely and confidential manner. Provide constructive feedback to management regarding merchandise handling issues. Understand and implement the company's Code of Ethics and all relevant policies and procedures. Uphold the mission statement by delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a positive team environment. Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.Supervisory Role
This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent education (GED); or one to three months of relevant sewing, fitting, and alteration experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
Additional Considerations
Due to the nature of the position, candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical capability to lift and maneuver up to 25 lbs throughout the retail space is required. Specific vision abilities needed for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While fulfilling the duties of this role, the employee typically works in a retail store environment where the noise level is generally moderate.
