Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose speech and language disorders in students, and develop individualized plans to address these needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement strategies and interventions to support student learning.
  • Provide consultative services to regular classroom teachers, demonstrating specific techniques and providing useful materials.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students diagnosed with impairments in speech and language.
  • Test the hearing, speech, and language of all students who are new to the school system or referred by teachers or parents.

We require a strong understanding of state certification guidelines for speech/language disorders. The physical demands of this role include frequent walking, standing, and light lifting. A favorable working environment is ensured with daily interactions with children and regular contact with other staff members, parents, and medical professionals.
