Position Overview:

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will play a critical role in providing care to individuals experiencing medical emergencies. EMTs are equipped with the necessary training to deliver both emergency and non-emergency medical assistance.

Your responsibilities will include responding to emergency calls, delivering medical services, and safely transporting patients to healthcare facilities while ensuring continuous care during transit.

In this role, maintaining composure in high-pressure situations is essential, as you will need to assess medical conditions and execute life-saving procedures based on your training.

Additionally, you will be required to safely maneuver patients onto stretchers and assist in their transport to ambulances when necessary.


Qualifications:

To excel in this position, you will need:

  • Illinois Licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic (mandatory for interview)
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Skills and experience necessary to perform competently at the Basic Life Support (BLS) level

Additional requirements include:

  • Successful completion of the Region XI CNEMS System Entry process
  • Current CPR certification
  • Consent to a criminal background check
  • Availability for a comprehensive 4-day orientation program
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 150+ lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
