Position Title: Field AV Engineer Department: Operations Reports To: Vice President of Customer Success Objective: This role is pivotal in overseeing, installing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting the electronic, hardware, and wiring components of audio-visual systems in accordance with company standards. The Field AV Engineer will be an integral part of the Operations team, contributing to the objectives of a premier sales and AV integration program. Responsibilities include loading AV Control Code, GUI, and DSP configurations. Following installation, travel to client locations is necessary to configure devices, load control code, conduct testing, and finalize projects in alignment with company policies and procedures, including quality, safety, environmental, and business practices. This position involves significant travel to various job sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities: The Field AV Engineer will independently manage the commissioning of audio-visual systems at job sites with minimal supervision. Key duties include:
- Loading and configuring Crestron and Extron control systems
- Setting up and programming DSP to meet design specifications
- Commissioning and testing systems both on-site and remotely
- Collaborating with sales and operations to ensure project alignment with customer expectations
- Fostering teamwork and effective communication across various departments including Operations, Sales, Design, Accounting, Procurement, and Purchasing
- Troubleshooting systems in collaboration with field technicians
- Performing additional duties as assigned
- Extensive experience in the AV industry
- Proficiency with Crestron Toolbox
- Familiarity with Extron Global Configurator Plus/Pro
- Experience collaborating with customer IT departments
- Knowledge in installation, wiring, and rack assembly
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Ability to make critical decisions under pressure
- Experience in providing training to end users
- Effective troubleshooting and time management abilities
- Willingness to travel frequently, often on short notice
- Successful completion of background checks and drug tests prior to employment
- Professional demeanor and approachability
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and complete safety training
- AV industry certifications such as AVIXA CTS and CTS-I
- Audio DSP certifications like Biamp and Q-SYS
- Experience in setting up and programming VTC systems
- Comfort with direct written communication
