Carnival Corporation is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Maritime Risk Assurance and Advisory Services Director. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our maritime operations.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Lead a team of 29 FTEs across nine brands, providing guidance and direction to ensure the effective delivery of maritime risk assurance and advisory services.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall safety and security of our maritime operations, including the evaluation of compliance with safety management systems.
- Audit and Advisory Services
- Develop and implement annual audit plans to ensure the effective delivery of maritime risk assurance and advisory services.
- Oversee internal audits of maritime operations, including the evaluation of compliance with safety management systems and the identification of best practices opportunities.
- Provide advisory services to senior management and the Board of Directors on maritime risk and safety matters.
- Reporting and Communication
- Prepare and present regular reports to the Chief Audit Officer and the Board of Directors on the status of maritime risk assurance and advisory services.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and the Board of Directors on maritime risk and safety matters.
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in a maritime-related field of study.
- Master's or Deck Officer's License, Chief Engineer or Engineer Officer's license, or any equivalent combination of relevant maritime health, environmental, safety, and security-related disciplines.
- Experience
- 10 years of maritime experience, with a strong background in risk assurance and advisory services.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Knowledge of maritime regulations and requirements, including safety management systems.
