Job Title: Service Engineer II

Microsoft is seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer II to join our team. As a Service Engineer II, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft's cloud-based services, including Office 365.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incidents during regular on-call rotations, including complex issues with major customer or business impact.
  • Identify the level of impact, troubleshoot, and contribute to difficult decisions based on business impact.
  • Deploy appropriate fixes to resolve root cause(s) and implement automations for prevention of recurring issues.
  • Escalate resolution of highly complex, ambiguous, and impactful issues as needed.
  • Contribute to postmortems and share details related to incidents and their resolution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering.
  • Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering.
  • 1+ year(s) technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.
  • Management Information Systems (MIS), or other industry or product specific Engineering Certifications.
  • Familiarity with one or more general purpose programming languages.
