Commission Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Commission Manager to join our team at FutureRecruit. As a Commission Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the commission processing team and ensuring the accurate and timely payment of commissions to our agents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and review the work of commission processors to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor commission cycle closings and data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Review account closings and payment requests to carriers to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Keep the direct bill log updated with closing data.
  • Oversee the updating of tracking logs with daily electronic carrier deposits.
  • Process invoices to recapture funds from branch agents for NSF funds.
  • Provide reports to the Accounting Department as needed.
  • Approve the check print queue for accounting use.
  • Assist in resolving commission challenges and disputes.
  • Assist with organizing, planning, and prioritizing the work of the processing team.
  • Assist in training commission processors.
  • Perform pre-close procedures for commission cycle close and process commissions in payroll software as needed.
Requirements:
  • Strong accounting background with a minimum of five years of insurance experience, preferably with a managing general agency or large retail agency with many carrier appointments.
  • Prior management experience with a minimum of 2-3 years supervising a team.
  • Ability to mentor, instruct, and monitor commission processors.
  • Solid experience with direct bill and agency bill commission processing.
  • Strong computer skills and high proficiency with Excel.
  • Ability to complete tasks correctly and within designated timeframes.
  • Associate degree or advanced degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
