As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of nurses to ensure seamless patient transitions.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Supervise and guide a team of nurses to ensure excellent patient care and efficient unit operations.
- Patient Care: Direct and provide professional post-anesthesia nursing care for patients across the age continuum, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Education and Training: Participate in goal-setting and educational activities to enhance professional growth and development.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Education: Graduate of an NLN-accredited school of professional nursing.
- Certification/Licenses: Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license. BLS Certification required or within 2 weeks of hire date. ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
- Skills: Ability to relate and work effectively with others, demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care, and willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities.
- Previous PACU, ambulatory care, critical care, or general nursing experience.
- Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.
- May be expected to lift up to 50 pounds or up to 150 pounds with assistance. May be expected to push or pull pounds with assistance.
- Work is of medium demand; walking or standing most of the time while on duty.
