Mercy is in search of a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician to fill a full-time faculty role within our expanding Family Medicine Residency Program. This opportunity is ideal for those interested in a diverse scope of family practice, particularly in areas facing primary care shortages, as well as in specialties such as Addiction Medicine, Geriatrics, or Obstetrics/Pregnancy Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and supervising family medicine residents in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
- Providing resident advising and engaging in medical student education.
- Contributing to curriculum development and enhancement.
Mercy Primary Care & Residency Highlights:
- Integrated Family Medicine care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Community-based university-affiliated residency program expanding its capacity.
- Utilization of a system-wide Epic EMR for streamlined operations.
- Access to a well-established multi-specialty referral network.
- Eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
- Attractive compensation structure and comprehensive benefits package.
- Relocation support and professional liability coverage.
- Collaborative environment with additional faculty members including family physicians and specialists.
- Inpatient call approximately every 8 weeks, with OB call for FMOB physicians about every 5 weeks.
Unique Clinic Resources:
- Full-time Community Health Worker (CHW) for screenings and follow-up services.
- Embedded Behavioral Health LCSW for direct referrals to counseling and psychiatry.
- Dedicated LCSW for non-behavioral health needs.
- In-house ultrasound services with available sonographer support.
- Programs addressing food insecurity and health, including food vouchers and a 'Food as Medicine' initiative.
- Monthly appointments with a Diabetes Nurse Practitioner.
- Participation in the Vaccines for Children Program.
