Job Overview

Buyers Edge Platform, LLC is a leading provider of cloud-based restaurant technology solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Agent to join our team in Littleton, CO.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $72,000 per annum. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing payroll and sales-related business taxes across all 50 states, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax laws.

Main Responsibilities
  • Tax Filing & Processing:
    • Filing and processing payroll and sales-related business taxes across all 50 states.
  • Tax Notice Research & Resolution:
    • Researching tax notices and liaising with tax agencies for clarification and resolution.
    • Leading efforts to abate tax notices and following up on abatement requests.
    • Processing amended or missing returns/payments.
    • Identifying and comprehending the root causes of tax notices, ensuring future compliance and accuracy.
  • New Client Onboarding:
    • Assisting with client onboarding by gathering, verifying, and setting up tax rates and IDs, ensuring accuracy before running their first payroll.
    • Serving as the primary point of contact for new clients regarding business tax matters.
  • New Tax Specialist Training:
    • Assisting in the training and development of new tax specialists, sharing best practices and knowledge.
  • Research & Compliance:
    • Researching state and local employment and sales tax laws to ensure clients receive accurate information.
    • Staying informed on the latest tax laws and regulations to maintain best practices in tax processing.
    • Continuously improving knowledge and processes regarding tax filings, compliance, and best practices.
  • Customer Service:
    • Ensuring timely responses to client inquiries, maintaining clear and professional communication to address tax-related questions and concerns promptly.
Requirements
  • An in-depth knowledge of state employment tax, sales tax, and federal/state tax laws, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a business context.
  • Previous experience in a tax-related field, with a strong understanding of tax filing processes and resolving tax notices.
  • Proven customer service experience, with the ability to effectively communicate and build strong relationships with clients.
  • Able to handle sensitive client information with discretion.
  • A strong ability to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using computers and software, including tax software, payroll systems, and other relevant platforms.
  • A keen attention to detail when processing tax information and reviewing reports.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and self-start projects.
  • A strong team player who works well in a collaborative environment and contributes to the success of the team.
