NDE Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled NDE Systems Engineer to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for supporting the NDT infrastructure and Assisted Defect Recognition (ADR) processes.
Key Responsibilities- NDT System Components Management
- Manage the procurement and replacement of detectors, generators, HT cables, water and oil coolers, software, sensors, and bulbs.
- ADR Process Development
- Define and control ADR processes, including revision control and documentation.
- Implement production ADR systems on the shop floor using a generated ADR plan and architecture.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work with NDE personnel to develop and implement ADR processes.
- Collaborate with the design team to implement and support new components as they come online with ADR.
- Manage the documentation and dissemination of issues/status of the NDT and ADR systems.
- Problem-Solving and Analysis
- Validate design specifications for shop floor applications of processing hardware configurations.
- Support shop floor operations to deliver business results while encouraging input from area personnel working within a self-directed workforce environment.
- Process Improvement
- Participate in the development of mid- and long-term plans outlining projects to support the business in meeting its objectives.
- Plan and implement NDE Process activities for new product development and current product support.
- Leadership and Teamwork
- Assist Team Leaders and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action.
- Pursue continuous improvement for quality and cost reductions in designated areas to achieve quarterly and annual business unit goals.
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of information technology and programming experience).
- Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of information technology and programming experience.
- Technical Skills
- Software development experience with 1+ years' architecting heterogeneous software solutions involving C++.
- Experience with Tcl, Python, QT, Windows PowerShell, or applications that handle large amounts of data.
- Business Acumen
- Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools.
- Leadership and Communication
- Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative.
- Problem-solving: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker.
