**Job Title:** Sommelier/Wine Steward

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Sommelier/Wine Steward to join our team at RPM Italian in Chicago. The ideal candidate will possess a current Sommelier certification and have excellent wine knowledge.

An estimated salary range for this position is $40,000-$60,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

**Job Description & Responsibilities**

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for selling and serving bottled wine, ordering wine, and developing the wine menu for the restaurant.
• They will also be required to ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations, greet guests, and use tact and good judgment when dealing with guest challenges.
• The Sommelier will provide wine education and training, conduct wine tastings, and maintain professional relationships with purveyors.
• Additionally, they will be required to organize and maintain wines in proper cabinets, coolers, or storage areas, attend wine seminars, and act as a lead for the Wine Runner position.

**Requirements & Qualifications**

• Able to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends.
• Ability to effectively communicate in written and spoken direction.
• Ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment.
• Proficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment, including the POS system.
• Compliance with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures.
