Position Type: Full Time, Eligible for Benefits
Shift: Evening Hours: 2:30 PM - 2:30 AM (approximately)
Role Summary:
The Registered Nurse in this role possesses foundational knowledge of human physiology, the aging process, and the application of nursing methodologies within a rehabilitation context. This professional will deliver direct nursing care to patients and oversee the nursing care of a diverse group of mid-adolescents, adults, and elderly patients engaged in physical medicine rehabilitation, starting from age 15 and above. Collaboration with fellow nursing staff and the healthcare team is essential.
The nurse will also educate patients and their families on health procedures and practices, ensuring appropriate referrals for ongoing care post-discharge.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana.
- CPR certification is mandatory; training must comply with American Heart Association standards, with maintenance of certification thereafter.
- Experience in direct patient care within the last five years is required.
- Completion of nursing orientation objectives is necessary. A graduate from an accredited School of Nursing is essential, with a Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, ensuring the coordination of care for mid-adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Work collaboratively with nursing colleagues and the broader healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families on healthcare practices and facilitate referrals for continued care after discharge.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Professional Development:
We encourage our nursing staff to pursue certification as Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses (CRRN) to enhance their professional skills and knowledge.
