Kaiser Permanente nurses are guided by an integrated nursing model that places patients and families at the forefront. As a Staff Registered Nurse (RN) I, you will practice professional nursing as defined by the Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act and by organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines. Your primary responsibility will be to provide nursing care for patients, members, and families to promote or restore health and to prevent illness and injury. You will collaborate with members of the Health Care Team (HCT) and leaders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, effective, and efficient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize the nursing process to assess patient health status, determine nursing diagnosis, establish nursing goals, and develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing plan of care.
- Complete patient evaluations and address care gaps during the patient encounter.
- Accurately document patient data, actions, interventions, and response to treatment according to established policies and guidelines.
- Assist with procedures and monitor patients' responses during and after the procedure.
- Actively participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.
- Lead the nursing response to medical emergencies, if indicated.
- Monitor electronic messaging and emails related to patient or provider requests and manage the messages or triage them to physician, associate practitioner, or others as needed.
- Initiate and monitor IV therapy, administration of medications, and other nursing procedures as prescribed by the physician or associate practitioner, and document accordingly.
- Assess patient and family health education needs, provide health teaching and counseling, and evaluate the effectiveness of the education process.
- Conduct outgoing telephone calls to patients requiring follow-up care and preventative outreach.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and/or initiatives.
- Participate in departmental orientation and training of new staff.
- Minimum one (1) year of RN clinical experience or completion of the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Nurse Residency program.
- Associates degree in nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support required at hire.
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Bachelors degree in nursing.
