As an Artisan Pastry Specialist, you will be the creative force behind crafting exquisite pastries, confections, and desserts that delight our guests. Your skill set encompasses the preparation of outstanding baked goods, frozen desserts, and visually stunning centerpiece creations that enhance the culinary experience at our establishment. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborative Efforts: Partner with the Executive Chef to bring to life an array of desserts, breads, creams, and jams, contributing to the overall success of the culinary team.
- Exemplary Leadership: Showcase your dedication to the craft by preparing all items in a safe manner, upholding sanitation standards, and minimizing waste. Mentor and nurture the skills of aspiring culinary professionals.
- Commitment to Safety: Follow the hotel's safety and security guidelines, proactively identifying and addressing any issues, and seeking managerial assistance when necessary.
• Create and prepare a diverse selection of pastry items for the hotel's dining venues.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain exceptional cleanliness in the kitchen environment.
• Innovate new pastry recipes and unique dessert selections to elevate the menu offerings.
• Train and oversee pastry kitchen personnel to ensure high productivity and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to align dessert selections with the overall menu strategy.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3 years of culinary experience in a hotel kitchen or similar environment is preferred.
• A culinary training certificate or apprenticeship, along with knowledge of sanitation standards, is preferred, complemented by artistic flair.
• Physical capabilities include proficient and safe use of various kitchen equipment.
• This position requires medium work, involving the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The ability to stand for extended periods without sitting or leaning is essential.
• Must possess the ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with the body and arms, and work under varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Near Vision - the capacity to see details at close range is necessary.
• Must be agile and quick to respond in situations requiring immediate assistance, and be prepared to work long hours as often required. The ability to multitask and strong communication skills are essential; proficiency in conveying and understanding information and ideas in English is required.
