Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Alexandria City Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, and providing a safe and optimal learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to individualized learning plans within established curriculum frameworks.
  • Administer assessments and evaluations to measure student competency levels and inform individualized learning plans.
  • Communicate student progress to parents and guardians, providing feedback on expectations, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community resources to enhance student outcomes and achieve established classroom objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to students on performance improvement, health, and personal issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Virginia Department of Education license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Endorsement in Mathematics 6-8.
Clearances and Compliance
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test.
  • Adherence to safety and health protocols.
