The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver routine daily nursing care and services to assigned patients, following their assessment and care plan as directed by supervisors.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
  • Completion of a nurse's aide training and competency program, along with passing a competency test approved by the relevant health department.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
:
EXPERIENCE:
  • Preferred one year of experience as a nursing assistant in a long-term care setting.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are essential to the role and are not exhaustive:

  • Document all patient interactions accurately in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration.
  • Provide care tailored to the needs of adult and geriatric patients, demonstrating knowledge of age-specific standards.
  • Utilize various medical equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
  • Support patients with mobility and positioning, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Respond promptly to patient calls and assist with feeding and nutritional needs.
  • Report any incidents or concerns regarding patient care as per established protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Frequent walking, standing, and lifting of patients.
  • Ability to lift and move patients of varying weights safely.
  • Normal hearing and visual acuity are essential for patient assessment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This role may involve exposure to:

  • Body fluids and infectious materials.
  • Cleansing agents and disinfectants.
  • High-stress situations and frequent interruptions.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong comprehension of oral and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Mathematical skills for medication calculations.
