Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist I Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist I to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI examinations, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining imaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision, under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Select specific software parameters to produce high-quality images for physician diagnosis.
  • Obtain protocols from radiologists and comply with image sequences defined in protocols.
  • Effectively interact with Denver Health's PACS system for data entry, image post-processing, and image archiving tasks.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media for patient examinations, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Screen patients, employees, and visitors to ensure safety and prevent contraindications.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by following patient care guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks.
  • Verify physician orders and relevant patient history in Epic, and consult with radiologists to obtain written imaging study protocols.
  • Scan relevant clinical information into the PACS, assign prioritization boxes, and transmit images to the PACS.
  • Maintain imaging equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, and documenting results.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • Less than 1 year of professional work experience in performing radiographic procedures, including 6 months experience in undertaking MRI imaging studies.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • ARRT-Radiologic Technologists certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
