Position Overview
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for executing essential nursing tasks and diagnostic evaluations to assist in the implementation of medical care plans. This role involves collaboration with physicians and clinic management on various assignments as needed.

Key Responsibilities
1. Escort patients to examination rooms to gather vital statistics including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and other health-related information.
2. Conduct blood draws for laboratory testing and perform EKGs and x-rays as directed by the physician.
3. Administer injections and prepare patients for various examinations, including gynecological assessments.
4. Support minor surgical procedures and assist in wound care.
5. Document and review all prescribed medications during patient visits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
6. Facilitate the administration of prescribed medications and manage electronic prescription refill requests as allowed by licensure.
7. Maintain effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and supervisors to ensure seamless patient care.
8. Complete all necessary clinical documentation in the electronic medical record system to comply with Meaningful Use standards.
9. Address clinical messages and respond to patient inquiries, escalating issues to the physician when necessary.

Qualifications
- Completion of basic nursing education required for LPN licensure.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Current LPN licensure in the State of Alabama.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Proficient in CPT and ICD coding, with computer literacy.
- Ability to perform manual tasks and maintain visual acuity for using office equipment.
- Capability to assist patients with mobility and transport equipment as needed.

In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing patient care and ensuring operational efficiency within the clinic environment.
