Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Computer Information Systems courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and be able to create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Computer Information Systems courses at a variety of times and locations
- Create and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Evaluate student progress and provide feedback in a timely manner
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum
- Mastery of course content and ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and the community
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to diversity and ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement instructional approaches such as service learning/civic engagement, learning communities, and the effective use of technology
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 18 graduate hours in computer science or related field, or an MBA with 18 hours of relevant computer technical coursework or computer technical experience
The work is sedentary and typically involves sitting comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Salary and Benefits$53.82 per contact hour. Benefits include tuition waiver, participation in a tax deferred retirement plan, professional development opportunities, and more.
