Job Title: Cook

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at the Town of Nantucket, MA. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and handling food for our residents and staff.

Job Summary:

The Cook will oversee the preparation and delivery of meals to residents and staff, ensuring that all meals are prepared in accordance with dietary specifications and state and federal regulations. The Cook will also be responsible for leading a team of dietary aides and ensuring that all kitchen work areas are clean and well-maintained.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and handle food for residents and staff
  • Oversee the delivery of meals to residents and staff
  • Lead a team of dietary aides
  • Ensure that all kitchen work areas are clean and well-maintained
  • Follow facility conduct standards and policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years of prior work experience
  • SERV Safe certification
  • Ability to deal with residents in a patient and understanding manner
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment
